Itinerary
Arrive at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport (IXB). Drive through the jungle and tea gardens to Lataguri (approx. 1.5 - 2 hours). Check-in at the hotel/resort and have lunch. In the evening, an optional Jungle Safari (Jeep Safari) or Watchtower visit at Gorumara National Park is available (subject to permit). An optional local cultural program can also be attended
After breakfast, set out for a full day of sightseeing. Visit Jhalong, a beautiful hilly village on the Jaladhaka River. Proceed to Bindu, the last village on the India-Bhutan border, where you can see the hydroelectric center. Explore Samsing and Rocky Island, known for beautiful tea gardens and rocky river scenery. Return to Lataguri in the evening and visit the local market or haat.
After breakfast, check out and drive towards Jaldapara or Madarihat (approx. 3 - 4 hours). Check-in at the hotel/resort and have lunch. In the afternoon, take an optional Jungle Safari or visit a Watchtower in Jaldapara or the nearby Chilapata Forest (subject to permit). Jaldapara is primarily famous for the one-horned rhinoceros. Optionally, you may visit the ruins of Nal Raja’s Garh near Chilapata.
For wildlife enthusiasts, an optional Elephant Safari or Morning Jeep Safari is available in Jaldapara in the early morning (subject to permit). After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Drive towards New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. If time permits, you can see the Sevoke Bridge or Coronation Bridge near Siliguri on the way. You will be dropped off at your destination by approximately 3 PM - 4 PM.
